Road marking

Road marking questions

What road marking services do you provide?

We provide paint, thermoplastic and methyl methacrylate (MMA) pavement markings for commercial, industrial, municipal and transportation projects across Vancouver Island, along with line removal, layout and traffic control.

What is the difference between paint, thermoplastic and MMA?

Paint is the cost-effective choice for most parking lots and roadway markings. Thermoplastic is thicker and more durable, which suits busy roads, crosswalks and other high-traffic areas. MMA is used for extremely durable coloured or specialty markings such as bike lanes, walkways and detailed designs.

Do you work to municipal and MoTI specifications?

Yes. We install markings to the project specification, including municipal standards and BC MoTI requirements, and confirm the layout against the drawings before material is applied.

Do you provide your own traffic control?

Yes. We have certified traffic control persons on our crew, so marking work and traffic management are handled together.

How long does line painting take to dry?

Dry time depends on the coating, temperature, humidity and surface conditions. Most painted markings are ready for traffic relatively quickly, while thermoplastic and MMA cure differently. We advise when the markings are ready for traffic on every project.

Can you work at night or outside business hours?

Yes. Evening, overnight and weekend scheduling is available to reduce disruption and keep roads, businesses and facilities operating.

Do you do new parking lot layouts?

Yes. We lay out new parking stalls, traffic lanes, loading areas and other pavement markings before application.

Do you remove old pavement markings?

Yes. Existing markings can be removed where layouts are changing, for traffic shifts, or where old lines need to come off before new markings are installed.

Do you do stencils like accessible symbols, arrows and custom markings?

Yes. We apply standard stencils and custom markings, and we confirm the layout before paint is applied.

Do you handle large road marking projects?

Yes. We work on projects ranging from small commercial lots to large industrial sites, terminals, roadways and transportation facilities.

Working with us questions

Can you price from drawings or a tender package?

Yes. Send the drawings, a marking schedule or the tender package to levi@viroadmarking.com and we will price it for your bid.

Will my business need to close during the work?

Usually not. Most projects are completed in sections so traffic and access can continue while other areas are being worked on.

Do you work with stratas and property managers?

Yes. We work with stratas, commercial plazas, industrial yards, municipalities and property managers across Vancouver Island. Evening and weekend scheduling is available to reduce downtime.

Are you insured and licensed?

Yes. We hold an inter-municipal business licence, are fully insured and are WorkSafeBC covered. Certificates of insurance and WorkSafeBC clearance letters are available on request.

How much does it cost?

Pricing depends on size, prep work and the service needed. Quotes are free. Send the address and a few photos, or the drawings.

Do you guarantee your work?

Yes. We stand behind our workmanship. For full details, see our Warranty Policy.
