Warranty & Satisfaction Policy

What is covered on our pavement marking work, and what we need from you to keep it covered.

Road marking warranty

VI Road Marking stands behind the workmanship of our pavement marking installations. Pavement markings are exposed to traffic, weather, surface movement, snow removal, contaminants and normal wear, so gradual fading and wear are expected over time.

We provide a 6-month workmanship warranty on paint, thermoplastic and methyl methacrylate (MMA) markings unless otherwise stated in the project quote.

Covered

  • Missed markings or areas included in the approved scope of work
  • Incorrect layout or placement compared with the approved layout or plans
  • Premature peeling, flaking or adhesion failure caused by improper surface preparation or application
  • Installation defects directly related to our workmanship

Not covered

  • Normal fading or wear caused by vehicle or pedestrian traffic
  • Tire scuffing, power steering marks or heavy vehicle use
  • Damage caused by snow plows, sweeping equipment, pressure washing, power scrubbing or other maintenance equipment
  • Oil, fuel, chemicals, solvents or other surface contamination
  • Failure caused by deteriorated, cracked, loose, contaminated or otherwise unsuitable pavement
  • Moisture or contamination originating from beneath the pavement surface
  • Damage caused by traffic entering the work area before the time specified by our crew
  • Damage caused by construction activity, other contractors, equipment or site operations
  • Existing markings showing through new markings
  • Changes requested after the layout has been approved
  • Layout variations required because of site conditions, obstacles, access limitations or inaccurate information provided before installation
  • Damage or premature wear resulting from conditions outside our control

No refund policy

Once pavement marking materials have been applied, they cannot be removed, returned or reused. For this reason, completed work is not refundable. If a workmanship-related issue covered by this warranty occurs, we will inspect the affected area and complete the appropriate corrective work.

Customer responsibilities

Required for warranty coverage on all services:

  • Keep vehicles, pedestrians and equipment off new work until the time specified by our crew, allowing the required drying or curing time.
  • Keep surfaces reasonably clean and free from oil, fuel, chemicals, debris and other contaminants.
  • Avoid pressure washing, aggressive sweeping, scraping or other activities that may damage new work.
  • Protect new work from construction equipment, other contractors, snow plows, shovels and sanding.
  • Maintain reasonable site conditions, especially drainage, slope and runoff control.
  • Advise us of known surface contamination, sealers, coatings or unusual site conditions before work begins.
  • Confirm and approve layouts where required before markings are applied.
  • Report warranty concerns within the applicable warranty period.

Failure to follow these requirements may void warranty coverage.

Our promise

We stand behind our workmanship. If an issue is related to how the work was performed and falls within the warranty terms above, we will make it right.
